i HEART you. tutorial.

Crafting time!

I saw a version of this on pinterest,
but they used red buttons to make the big heart,
and it said "you & me" on the bottom of the canvas
(if any of you know the one I'm talking about,
let me know so I can give credit).

I thought I'd give it a try...

Measure, Mark.

Paint.
Repaint over smudges.

Make up heart pattern.

Cut up old sweater.

Plug in hot glue gun.
Find pretties to add onto heart.

Clean up this mess you've been ignoring
so you could do your craft.

Then hot glue together:

Love it.

Marry it.

Valentines Decorations

These are our Heart Day decorations we put up this year.
I made the heart garland last year,
but I soooo love it.

I think I'll keep it forever. and ever.

I had a little help with the "art" part--
those scribble pictures are my favorite

My heart quotes are also from last year,
but I didn't hate them when I pulled them out this year,
so up on the wall they went!

Hope you had a great Valentines Day!

I Love...

...that he brings me a bouquet of daisies on Valentine's Day every year

...and sometimes throws in a little somethin' extra

...that he always helps me make dinner, he always cleans up, too

...that he is always kind and has a giving heart

...that his priority is our little family and the time we spend together

...that if I tickle him too much I always win

...that he loves our sweet little miss g with all his heart and more

...and that he treats me like I am his one true love, all year long

To my hubby
Thank you for a wonderful night,
even if you had to do homework
I enjoyed knitting
and eating Valentine treats with you anyway

Valentines Day

Happy Valentine's Day! We got out the family art stuff last night and each of us made a valentine for each member of our family. We have a cute little red mailbox sitting on the dining room table that we stuffed all the valentines in, and when everyone gets back to the house tonight we are going to open it and share our creations (so more pictures will be up soon...)! I am so excited! Little Miss G was going crazy with the stickers, and I have to admit I saw my hubby cutting out some rockin' pink and blue hearts. There were markers, paper scraps, and doilies flying all over the place! I'm also looking forward to some home made pizza and chocolate fondue for tonight. I love holidays.

I was also working on a sweet little project this weekend...

I Heart Quotes

I have my Disney station playing on Pandora, and my (almost) two year old is singing along. It's adorable. Last week when we made our other valentine decorations together with her new markers it got me thinking about what other easy decorations I could easily make. I wanted to do something that was more personal for our little family.... okay, or for me and my hubby...

I went on a little quote hunt to find some favorite love quotes...

...and used my never-ending stash of scrapping paper to cut out the hearts. I made a bunch of these and hung them all over where my hubby and I can read them all month long. They are in the closet, in the study, in the bathroom, by the calendar, and the light switches too! It's a sweet little reminder as we are going about our normal busy days of what it the most important to us.

Today I am going to read a speech by Dallin H. Oaks that he gave over the weekend. He spoke at the Chapman University School of Law, and my hubby is in law school right now so it should be pretty interesting. I'm also going to spend a little time over at The Blog Guidebook. They always have something that I need to learn about blogging, as well as tons of really great bloggers that I have yet to meet! But first I am going to boogie to the Bare Necessities song from Disney's Jungle Book with my little miss G. It just started playing, so, I'll see you later!

Feelin' the Love

This week we made some Valentine decorations! Miss G got some new markers from Grandma for Christmas, and she is never going to get tired of them- she wants to color every day. We put those markers to some good use and gave our home some lovin' atmosphere!

Today I am linking up to this craft party at fireflies and jellybeans. There are tons of cute crafts and sewing project ideas that have been entered. I love it!
