Room Fix

"I don't like my room, Mommy"
is how it began.
The three year old suddenly realized
that her room wasn't pink,
so she doesn't like it.
At all.
She crawls in our bed at night,
because her room isn't pink.

I didn't feel like painting,
so we made a new bunting together instead:

I let her pick out her own fabrics...
I think she did a really great job!

...and now she stays in her own room to sleep.

Usually.

Pencil Holder

Miss G helped me with this one!

We used a can, and I had her draw and paste
all over a paper to cover the can.

I love that artwork from those little hands.

Now my cupboard doesn't have
pens and pencils falling all over the place.

Glory be.

Pearl Bracelets

These pearl bracelets are what I made
for my sisters birthdays this year.
They were so easy to make!
And I think they are a cute girly gift.

Heart Cards

I made these great cards the other day.
{blank on the inside}

I was really happy with all the colors I had
stashed in my scrap paper box.

Boo ya for being able to use some of it up!

Also, I made three of my four foul shots
in our basketball game this morning.
It was awesome.

i HEART you. tutorial.

Crafting time!

I saw a version of this on pinterest,
but they used red buttons to make the big heart,
and it said "you & me" on the bottom of the canvas
(if any of you know the one I'm talking about,
let me know so I can give credit).

I thought I'd give it a try...

Measure, Mark.

Paint.
Repaint over smudges.

Make up heart pattern.

Cut up old sweater.

Plug in hot glue gun.
Find pretties to add onto heart.

Clean up this mess you've been ignoring
so you could do your craft.

Then hot glue together:

Love it.

Marry it.

I Made Beads!

Well, two.

I made two beads.

But still, they are out of glass,
and I MADE them!

These are the two that I made:

My cute little sis in law said her friend makes glass beads,
and she had invited us over to make some with her.
Did I want to accept the invitation?
OF COURSE!
So away we went.

She turned on her blow torch and her other little doo dahs,
handed us a stick (to make the bead on)
and a stick of colored glass to melt onto the stick,
and bam we were some bead makin' babes.

I guess I shouldn't exaggerate too much...

I was actually a little scared of the blazing blow torch
right in front of my face,
as well as the option of having some glass shatter
right in front of my face
if I didn't let it get hot slow enough,
and I only had to watch about 5 beads get made
before I dared to try it myself....
But then, Bam, there I was,
Makin beads out of glass with my own hands.

I think when I have some working space of my own
I'll look into getting my own supplies.
It was so much fun to do and to watch.

Then I can be a bead makin' babe every day.

Christmas Tree Skirt

Hello cyber world!
Sorry I've been gone for, uh, EVER.
I know, It's been a while.

I've been becoming really great friends with
The Couch.
and Peppermints.
And Ginger Ale.

And I really haven't done a single thing
for a long time.

I did make this tree skirt right after Thanksgiving,
and then things went crazy.
That's how life is sometimes, though.
Especially when you are expecting.
ahem...

Baby #2 is due the first week of July :)

And there you have it,
my first tree skirt I've ever made.

Little Notebooks

I've been saving all these old cereal and cracker boxes for a while now. They are in this really great little pile in the basement. My hubby, being familiar with my random little piles of things, carefully set them on the shelf when he was organizing some things last week. Then the other day he came home to see me stitching up some of these cute little notebooks, and I think I saw the look of relief on his face as he saw me actually using some of that pile from the basement.

This was a really fun project to do when I just had a little time on my hands, and my hubby's sister (who came for a visit) enjoyed making some as well. We just cut the cardboard and the papers to the same size, stitched down the center with the sewing machine, and then decorated the outside with paper, fabric, and mod podge.
This one (above) is my favorite so far.
